The "fun" soul of Aprilia sports bikes is definitely linked to the Supermotard world. Created as a road version of an off-road motorbike, the Supermotard combines the ease of riding of the enduro set-ups with asphalt performance. The new SR Motard introduces the spirit of the great Aprilia supermotard family to the SR family of sports scooters.

The Aprilia SR 50 Motard MY18 is equipped with a new 50 cc two-stroke air-cooled engine, a brilliant state-of-the-art unit that complies with Euro 4 emissions standards.

Design: a Motard soul on a sports scooter

The style reflects the character of Aprilia SR Motard and evolves towards brilliant and fun riding. The front features sports style handlebar, the light assembly built into the shield, and above all the pronounced "beak" over the front-wheel (a nod to the off-road world).

The new digital analogue dashboard incorporates, among its many functions, an analogue speedometer, LCD display with trip meter (total and partial), fuel gauge and clock. The series of indicators includes: fuel reserve, indicators, headlamps, and oil level.

The footboard, as well as making for sitting and riding comfort, improves load capacity, also thanksto the hook in the leg shield back plate. The big 14" black four-spoke wheels feature a bold design inspired by the Aprilia sports world, offset by the gold front brake calliper. Streamlined and gutsy, the rear of SR Motard features a large, comfortable seat whose sides reflect the coloured graphics of the bodywork, a refinement that brings out the liveliness of a vehicle designed to turn every city trip into a fun experience. The large helmet compartment, which features a USB socket for charging smartphones or other mobile devices, can accommodate a full-face helmet and delimits the rear with the licence plate bracket and the redesigned passenger handles as well as the new retractable passenger footpegs.

Engineering: brilliant performance and ease of riding

The new air-cooled single-cyclinder engine is a modern, ecological and snappy unit, the best solution for a brilliant and fun daily riding experience in the metropolitan jungle. The scooter has been designed to meet Euro 4 standards, but without compromising the well-known rideability and useability under any conditions. The power line benefits from a new electronic fuel-efficient carburettor: the air-fuel mixture is dosed by a solenoid valve controlled by the engine control unit, which is also new, allowing a more efficient mapping.. Added to this is an optimised cylinder diagram and a new exhaust line, now equipped with a double catalyser and a double secondary air device.

The steel tube frame houses a robust telescopic hydraulic fork at the front while the rear has a double hydraulic monoshock coupled with a transmission unit that acts as a swingarm. The large 14" wheel rims come with sports road covers. Brake safety is provided by the 220 mm front disc supported by the powerful and modulatable 140 mm rear drum.
