Meet the New Aprilia SR GT 400 at Scootech

Aprilia has expanded its scooter range with the SR GT 400, a new middleweight GT designed to bring together everyday practicality, distinctive adventure-inspired styling and the performance to look beyond the city.
A new step for the SR GT family
The SR GT name is already familiar to riders who want a scooter with a more purposeful character. The 400 develops that idea into a larger, more powerful package. Its 399cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine produces a claimed 36 CV (26.4 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 37.7 Nm of torque at 5,700 rpm, while meeting the current Euro 5+ emissions standard.
That makes the SR GT 400 an interesting option for London riders whose journeys do not always stop at the edge of town. It is designed to feel at home on busy urban routes while offering the capacity, wind protection and chassis specification expected from a modern GT scooter.
Chassis and braking designed for a larger GT
Aprilia has equipped the SR GT 400 with a high-strength steel-tube double-cradle frame. At the front is a 41mm upside-down fork with 120mm of wheel travel, while the rear uses a gas-charged shock absorber with a separate reservoir and spring-preload adjustment.
The wheel combination is 16 inches at the front and 14 inches at the rear. Braking is handled by a 300mm floating front disc with a radially mounted four-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc. The scooter has a 12-litre fuel tank and a quoted running weight of 186kg.
Technology for everyday riding
Modern equipment is part of the package, including full-LED lighting, keyless operation and a 5-inch TFT instrument display. Aprilia MIA smartphone connectivity is standard on the Rally Replica version and is available for the wider range, so it is worth checking the exact specification of the model you are considering.
