Piaggio MP3 310 vs MP3 Sport 310: Which Should You Choose?

The Piaggio MP3 310 and MP3 Sport 310 share the same compact three-wheel platform and Euro 5+ HPE engine. The choice is therefore less about basic performance and more about styling, equipment and the details that matter to you every day.
What both MP3 310 models share
Both versions use a 310cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve single-cylinder HPE engine. Claimed output is 19.4 kW (26.4 HP) at 7,500 rpm, with 27.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
The two 13-inch front wheels are controlled by Piaggio's articulated quadrilateral suspension, while the rear wheel is 14 inches. The braking system uses discs on all three wheels, supported by three-channel ABS and ASR traction control. A front-suspension lock system can hold the vehicle upright when correctly engaged, although riders should still learn the system and follow the handbook.
Everyday equipment
A 5-inch LCD instrument panel, keyless operation, full-LED lighting and a USB connection are included in the shared equipment package. The two-level saddle is shaped to support rider and passenger, and the under-seat compartment is designed to take a full-face helmet or two demi-jet helmets, subject to their size and shape.
Both versions have an 11-litre fuel tank and a quoted running-order weight of 230kg. That shared specification means either model delivers the same core MP3 310 riding concept.
What the Sport version adds
The MP3 Sport 310 has a more assertive appearance. Details include blue saddle stitching, decals on black wheel rims, a combination of matt and gloss black finishes and an aluminium footwell insert.
Its front brake discs use a wave profile, and Piaggio MIA smartphone connectivity is fitted as standard. On the regular MP3 310, MIA should not be assumed to be standard; confirm the exact specification and available options when ordering.
Which one suits you?
Choose the MP3 310 if you prefer the cleaner standard design and do not need the Sport-specific finish or standard connectivity. Choose the MP3 Sport 310 if those visual details, wave-profile discs and Piaggio MIA are worth having from the outset.
Licence rules need care. Current Great Britain guidance says a person over 21 with a full car driving licence can drive a motor tricycle of any power, but individual entitlement, vehicle classification and circumstances should always be checked before riding.
