The Vespa GTV Moves to 310cc: What Is New for 2026?

POSTED: 27/08/2026

The Vespa GTV has always mixed heritage cues with a more sporting personality. For 2026, that familiar low headlight and exposed handlebar are joined by Vespa's current 310cc Euro 5+ HPE engine.

A genuine engine change

The most important update is the move from the previous 278cc unit to the current 310cc HPE engine. Vespa describes the new engine as smoother, quieter and more efficient, with responsive power designed to suit both city riding and longer journeys.

The longer-stroke engine represents a genuine mechanical update rather than a new badge for the previous unit. For the current GTV 310, the published displacement is 310cc.

Heritage details that define the GTV

The low-mounted headlight remains the clearest link to early Vespa competition models. An exposed handlebar, a racing-look saddle and the distinctive central "tie" on the front shield give the GTV a character of its own within the wider GTS family.

Matt colour schemes and contrasting graphics add a contemporary edge. The result is a Vespa that references the past without attempting to reproduce an old scooter.

Current technology behind the classic cues

Keyless operation removes the need to take the key from a pocket for normal starting. A circular colour LCD instrument panel presents essential journey information while keeping the dashboard visually consistent with the GTV's shape.

Full-LED lighting includes the signature low-mounted headlamp. Vespa MIA smartphone connectivity is available as an accessory, so it should not be described as standard equipment.

A distinctive route into the 310 range

The GTV 310 is for riders who like the performance and scale of Vespa's larger platform but want something more individual than a conventional GTS. Its identity comes from the combination of current mechanicals and very specific design details.
