Vespa 946 Horse: A Numbered Lunar Calendar Edition

The Vespa 946 Horse is the latest numbered limited edition in Vespa's Lunar Calendar series. Created for the Year of the Horse, it gives the sculptural 946 a deep new colour treatment and a collection of carefully coordinated details.
A design inspired by the Year of the Horse
Vespa describes the Horse through qualities including intelligence, elegance and a desire to explore. Those themes are interpreted through the 946's flowing bodywork rather than through bold graphics, allowing the shape and materials to take centre stage.
Each scooter is produced as part of a numbered limited edition. That makes provenance part of the appeal, alongside the 946's distinctive aluminium components, hand-finished character and unusual place within the Vespa range.
The Bay colour and contrasting finishes
The dedicated Bay tone is a deep, burnished brown designed to change character with the light. Warmer golden reflections emerge in sunlight, while shaded surfaces appear richer and more metallic. Matt and gloss sections are deliberately combined to give the bodywork depth.
Golden accents and a genuine leather saddle complete the palette. The result is restrained rather than decorative: a limited-edition Vespa whose identity comes from colour, finish and material detail.
A 125cc scooter beneath the craftsmanship
The 946 Horse uses a 125cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, three-valve engine with electronic fuel injection and forced-air cooling. Its braking specification includes 220mm discs front and rear, dual-channel ABS and ASR traction control.
Dedicated accessories have also been created, including a matching helmet, flyscreen, vehicle cover and leather rear bag. These items are accessories rather than equipment that should be assumed to be included, so availability and pricing need to be confirmed separately.
A rare expression of Vespa design
The Vespa 946 has always occupied a special position in the range, combining a recognisable Vespa silhouette with low-volume production and an emphasis on craftsmanship. The Horse edition develops that idea through an unusually rich colour and a clear cultural theme.
